First Impressions

Fro opening the packaging of the Huckleberry Kaleidoscope it was clear being eco friendly was a focus. All the packaging seemed recyclable with no plastic.

The kaleidoscope is small, lightweight, easy to use, and lets you fill it with little treasures to create your own patterns. Perfect for kids and simple to pack for a family day out (if the kids don't find time to use it, you won't feel you've had to carry it around for nothing).

The Huckleberry Kaleidoscope Review & Test

At Holkham Beach, we collected small items like shells, sea glass, and tiny stones. The kids enjoyed filling the kaleidoscope and seeing how different combinations looked. Each twist gave a new view, and they kept swapping treasures to make new patterns.

We also tested the Huckleberry Kaleidoscope in the beautiful woodland area behind the beach which had some amazing pine cones and leaves that we put in the holder.

Performance

Durability: Survived sandy hands and drops onto pebbles without issues.

Engagement: Kept the kids busy collecting and experimenting.

Versatility: Works anywhere – at the beach, in the garden, or at home.

What we Loved about the Kaleidoscope

  1. Encourages kids to explore and get creative.
  2. Made from recycled materials – a more sustainable choice.
  3. Easy to carry and keeps kids entertained on the go.

What the kids loved about the Huckleberry Kaleidoscope

  1. How it made cool patterns and flower shapes
  2. That you can put anything in it

Room for Improvement

  • The compartment could be a bit bigger to hold more treasures.
  • It's not that easy to twist the end piece to make the patterns swirl. Part of this is the simple design, so not a major issue.
  • The viewing part can scratch, so make sure any heavier or sharp objects are viewed flat or looking down so they don't hit it.

Final Thoughts

The Huckleberry Kaleidoscope added extra fun to our winter beach trip. The kids loved the hands-on experience, and we’d recommend it for families who enjoy outdoor adventures. It’s a great way to make the most of your surroundings and keep little ones entertained.
