Ready, Steady, Fire - Portable Fire Pit Test

Ready, Steady, Fire - Portable Fire Pit Test

Portable Camp Fire Pit Review & Test

Portable Fire Pit Test Details:

Where: National Trust - Houghton Mill & Waterclose Meadows

When: Summer 2024

Test Summary: A family camping trip in our VW Campervan, the fire pit was used for keeping warm in the evening and toasting marshmallows.

Overview: The Camp & Wander tested Portable Camp Fire is a pocket sized camping essential. In it's bag it seems too small and light to be of real use on a cold camping evening, but it packs a great punch for its size.

Campkins View: Small, light and very simple to use. No worry about starting, building and maintaining a flame - just clip in place, light and enjoy a beer in the evening!

Moo's View: Warm and great for toasting marshmallows :).

Portable Fire Pit Review:

Put up in a matter of seconds, the flexible metal sheet clips into the legs and that's it. Simply place your fire product of choice and off you go!

For our test of the Portable Camping Fire Pit, we used a coffee briquette which kept us warm for hours.

The base was sturdy, so no concerns of the kids knocking it easily over. Obviously there are no sides to the fire pit, so I would advise against use with very small children around or at least they need to be very well supervised.

The next morning, we simply wiped the Portable Camp Fire down and it was ready to be packed away for another use.

Does the portable fire pit create lasting memories?

Yes. I showed my daughter a picture of the camp fire pit 6 months later and asked her if she remembers it - She said, yes we toasted marshmallows!

It passes the CAMPKIN & MOO test! I loved it for it's ease of use, safe and sturdy base and it created a lasting family memory.
